Regarding Padre Pio and skirts vs. pants:
How does Anne Cillis purport to know what went on during someone else's confession, unless she has the information directly from the penitent? From what I have read about Mrs. Cillis' book, her sources for this information are somewhat lacking in reliability.
As to the dress code he enforced in his own parish, that was certainly his prerogative.
Incidentally, though even the dress code at St. Peter's Basilica does not forbid pants for women:
See here
I think I'll still be wearing pants. :)
Good point Christina. You should know that Anne Cillis is a total fraud who claims to be hollier than the Pope. She is from Canada and runs a so called Padre Pio Institute, of which she is the only member. She is a total nutjob. She has recently claimed that Mel Gibson's adultery is really a satanic plot and her proof is that the woman that he cheated with is Russian so therefore it must be the Russian government behind it and that makes it satanic. She is totally nuts.
