Life Begins at Moment of Conception

Pope Benedict XVI affirmed that life begins at the moment of conception. The Pope went on to say that even before the embryos are implanted in the maternal womb that they are "sacred and inviolable". This pretty much cuts short the debate on the experimentation and the manipulation of embryos. "The Catholic Church holds that in-vitro fertilisation is morally wrong but scientific advances have presented it with a minefield of ethical issues regarding embryos created outside the womb for artificial implantation."
