About the Bible

The funny thing about the Bible that many non-Catholic Christians are unaware of or refuse to recognize is that we, Cathoics, wrote the Bible. Not literally, but the apostles and disciples of Christ contributed to what we have today as the Bible, via the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Thusly, the Bible is the word of God. All of which writings were written by about 100 A.D. In the mid-4th century we have what is called the Bible. The Council of Trent canonized what we have as the Bible today in 1563, which means no Christian can question the books in the Bible. Lastly, the word Bible comes from the Greek expression Biblia. Now for some random quotes from the Bible validating the existance of our Catholic Church: And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. --Matthew 16:18-19 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. --Matthew 18:17-18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age." --Matthew 28:18-20 And he said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. --Mark 16:15-16 "He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me." --Luke 10:16 And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you for ever, But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. --John 14:16, 26 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. --John 16:13 if I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and bulwark of the truth. --1 Timothy 3:15
