G.K.Chesterton Quote of the Day

Something for the pro-choice crowd to think about. "To have a right to do a thing is not at all the same as to be right in doing it." -- G.K. Chesterton, A Short History of England.

With all these 'invented' rights to have homosexual sex and killing your baby, this country is continuing its slide to Gomorrah.

If you ever need your fix of Chesterton, give Ignatius Press a look -- they have like 33 volumes of his collected works.

P.S. Orthodoxy is an AWESOME read.

KennethK,

I'm about to pick a book, but I there are a couple worth starting on first, Orthodoxy being one of them.

I like his quotes so much, I've begun blogging almost daily on a new set a quotes I come across. Anyways, it's amazing I never heard of GK Chesterton while studying English in high school or college.

Heretics and the Blatchford Controversies are also good.

It doesn't surprise me, though, that neither of us ever encountered the man in educational circles -- G.K. was too openly critical of the dumbing down of modern education for him to be popular with teachers.
