Just a comment on Maria Shriver's assertions that she can be a Catholic in good standing while rejecting Church teaching on divorce, abortion, the all-male priesthood, and gay marriage. She lives in the diocese of Los Angeles so it is highly improbable that Cardinal Mahoney will offer any correction. Her interview was published in the Washington Post which is in Archbishop Wuerl's diocese. Perhaps Archbishop Wuerl would be willing to provide correction to Ms. Shriver's erroneous claims. I have written him asking him to respond. Any others who would like to offer him similar words of encouragement can email him at chancery@adw.org.
