Charity Refuses Jesus Doll

Because it might offend Jewish or Muslim families who celebrate Christmas.
A company that sells Bible-quoting Jesus dolls said it was surprised and disappointed that the Marine Reserves' Toys for Tots program turned down its offer to donate 4,000 of the talking dolls.
Wait a minute here, did I read the article wrong?
"We can't take a chance on sending a talking Jesus doll to a Jewish family or a Muslim family," Grein said Tuesday. "Kids want a gift for the holiday season that is fun."
Oh, it said holiday season. What holiday season are Jewish and Muslim families celebrating for December 25th? For this interesting story click here. UPDATED: Toys for Tots does a reversal and will now accept these Jesus dolls. For the story click here.

They didn't take them because it was the right thing to do but because it was the easy thing to do.....

"We realized it's a lot less time-consuming to find homes for the dolls than it is to answer media and complaints," said Bill Grein, vice president of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, in Quantico, Va., who said the dolls, which retail for $20, quote six Scripture verses from the gospels of Matthew and John, including, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."

Rebecca,

Just read that... sad.

It's also pretty silly for refusing to accept the dolls.

I didn't know that Jews and Muslims celebrated Christmas to begin with.

:~)
