Kwanzaa the Pagan Holiday

An excellent posting by La Shawn Barber on her La Shawn Barber's Corner about Kwanzaa. In a nutshell, Kwanzaa is a made up holiday that celebrates 'Africaness'. In essence if you're black and live in the United States, this holiday celebrates your ethnicity. Yep, that's it. Made up by a criminal. Picked up by the guilty white liberals so they can feel good about themselves because they are 'open' minded and 'diverse'. This holiday celebrates an ethnicity about a 'creator' that is not God, the almighty. Hence it's pagan. Hat tip to + + relapsed catholic + + . Urbi et Orbi

Pope Benedict XVI's Urbi et Orbi, Christmas message to the city of Rome and the world: "I bring you good news of a great joy … for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:10-11). Last night we heard once more the Angel's message to the shepherds, and we experienced anew the atmosphere of that holy night, Bethlehem Night, when the Son of God became man, was born in a lowly stable and dwelt among us. On this solemn day, the Angel's proclamation rings out once again, inviting us, the men and women of the third millennium, to welcome the Savior. May the people of today's world not hesitate to let him enter their homes, their cities, their nations, everywhere on earth! In the millennium just past, and especially in the last centuries, immense progress was made in the areas of technology and science. Today we can dispose of vast material resources. But the men and women in our technological age risk becoming victims of their own intellectual and technical achievements, ending up in spiritual barrenness and emptiness of heart. That is why it is so important for us to open our minds and hearts to the Birth of Christ, this event of salvation which can give new hope to the life of each human being. Wake up, O man! For your sake God became man" (St. Augustine, "Sermo," 185). Wake up, O men and women of the third millennium! At Christmas, the Almighty becomes a child and asks for our help and protection. His way of showing that he is God challenges our way of being human. By knocking at our door, he challenges us and our freedom; he calls us to examine how we understand and live our lives. The modern age is often seen as an awakening of reason from its slumbers, humanity's enlightenment after an age of darkness. Yet without the light of Christ, the light of reason is not sufficient to enlighten humanity and the world. For this reason, the words of the Christmas Gospel: "the true Light that enlightens every man was coming into this world" (John 1:9) resound now more than ever as a proclamation of salvation. "It is only in the mystery of the Word made flesh that the mystery of humanity truly becomes clear" ("Gaudium et Spes," No. 22). The Church does not tire of repeating this message of hope reaffirmed by the Second Vatican Council, which concluded 40 years ago. Men and women of today, humanity come of age yet often still so frail in mind and will, let the Child of Bethlehem take you by the hand! Do not fear; put your trust in him! The life-giving power of his light is an incentive for building a new world order based on just ethical and economic relationships. May his love guide every people on earth and strengthen their common consciousness of being a "family" called to foster relationships of trust and mutual support. A united humanity will be able to confront the many troubling problems of the present time: from the menace of terrorism to the humiliating poverty in which millions of human beings live, from the proliferation of weapons to the pandemics and the environmental destruction which threatens the future of our planet. May the God who became man out of love for humanity strengthen all those in Africa who work for peace, integral development and the prevention of fratricidal conflicts, for the consolidation of the present, still fragile political transitions, and the protection of the most elementary rights of those experiencing tragic humanitarian crises, such as those in Darfur and in other regions of central Africa. May he lead the peoples of Latin America to live in peace and harmony. May he grant courage to people of good will in the Holy Land, in Iraq, in Lebanon, where signs of hope, which are not lacking, need to be confirmed by actions inspired by fairness and wisdom; may he favor the process of dialogue on the Korean peninsula and elsewhere in the countries of Asia, so that, by the settlement of dangerous disputes, consistent and peaceful conclusions can be reached in a spirit of friendship, conclusions which their peoples expectantly await. At Christmas we contemplate God made man, divine glory hidden beneath the poverty of a Child wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger; the Creator of the Universe reduced to the helplessness of an infant. Once we accept this paradox, we discover the Truth that sets us free and the Love that transforms our lives. On Bethlehem Night, the Redeemer becomes one of us, our companion along the precarious paths of history. Let us take the hand which he stretches out to us: It is a hand which seeks to take nothing from us, but only to give. With the shepherds let us enter the stable of Bethlehem beneath the loving gaze of Mary, the silent witness of his miraculous birth. May she help us to experience the happiness of Christmas, may she teach us how to treasure in our hearts the mystery of God who for our sake became man; and may she help us to bear witness in our world to his truth, his love and his peace. OPUS DEI

John Allen, Jr.'s New Book about OPUS DEI is a somewhat even-handed examination of this religious order in "Opus Dei : An Objective Look Behind the Myths and Reality of the Most Controversial Force in the Catholic Church". After the 'character assassination' that Dan Brown did in his book "The Da Vinci Code" on Opus Dei, this book will help restore to some degree their public image. Not that it is important, but the reckless abandon that "The Da Vinci Code" has done to many aspects of Catholicism is abhorrent. Nonetheless, in this ZENIT interview with John Allen, Jr., some perspective and respect is restored. For more from ZENIT click here and here. For more on OPUS DEI click here. Palestinian Christians and Bethlehem

The sad state of affairs that are the Christians in the Holy Land will one day bear fruit. Just as the martyrs of centuries past provided for fertile ground and the blossoming of Christianity, so will the current Islamic regimes efforts in stamping out Christianity in the city of Christ's birth. Let us pray for the deliverance of the the persecution of Christians in Bethlehem and Palestine proper that one day their fellow Muslims will see the light of our Lord and convert. the Word was God

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be. What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race; the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father's only Son, full of grace and truth. --John 1:1-5, 14 To my avid readers I wish you all a very Merry Christmas! UPDATE: Liberal Party's New Slogan "Allah Akbar!"

UDPATE: Seems the person who made the statements of "Islamic power" was not the Liberal party nominee, but another Liberal party member. Hence the following posting can now be read with clarity. "This is a victory for Islam! Islam won! Islam Won! ... Islamic power is extending into Canadian politics." --Omar Alghabra of the Liberal Party (Canada) after receiving a ringing endorsement of vote from the Liberal Party to represent them in the primary elections of Mississauga, Canada. I can see the guilty white liberals running for cover not wanting to describe how the 'religion of peace' could produce such a candidate to our northern neighbors. Once we understand what we are facing, a war on Islamic terrorism, not a 'war on terror'. When a country like Canada abandons their Christian heritage and are tolerant towards the intolerant, what can we expect of Muslim candidates, from the Liberal party no less, when they win. New San Francisco Archbishop

Hat tip goes to Quintero of L.A. Catholic. In a recent discussion with a favorite priest of mine, the discussion was about Pope Benedict XVI's appointment to his old post, Archbishop Levada of San Francisco. The discussion was about how orthodox his Grace was. Nonetheless, his replacement for the San Francisco bishopric seems to be another step down. In a posting on L.A. Catholic, we have proof of how 'liturgical' Bishop George Niederauer is who will step into the role of Archbishop of San Francisco. Ironically enough, Bishop George Niederauer were seminary classmates with Archbishop Mahoney. Seems like the 'spirit' of Vatican II is alive and well in California. Cafeteria Catholics should be happy with the knowledge Bishop Niederauer disagrees and is in direct opposition to how the Vatican deals with the problem of pedophiliac homosexuals in the priesthood. UPDATE on USCCB Brokeback Breakdown Movie Review

Update: Seattle Catholic has a nice follow up on the schizophrenic (c)over(up)view of Brokeback Mountain by the USCCB. "An arm of the USCCB has once again reminded us of the nature and depth of the problem for orthodox Catholics here in the United States. In a recent movie review, a USCCB movie-reviewer conveyed adulation for a movie that promotes homosexuality, adultery, drug use and more. At the end of the review, the reviewer chose to give the film a rating of "L", which means it is suitable for adults, even though there may be aspects to the movie that adults "may find troubling." ("Troubling", is that all sodomy and adultery have become?) However, due to the almost immediate response (i.e. pleasant surprise from the pro-homosexual lobby and anger from orthodox Catholics), they changed the rating to "O", the lowest rating, which denotes "morally offensive". Nonetheless, this arm of the USCCB kept the review itself intact (below)." For more on this click here and here.

Popes Message to Politicians

"Those who are suited or can become suited should prepare themselves for the difficult, but at the same time, the very noble art of politics, and should seek to practice this art without regard for their own interests or for material advantages." "With integrity and wisdom, they must take action against any form of injustice and tyranny, against arbitrary domination by an individual or a political party and any intolerance." "They should dedicate themselves to the service of all with sincerity and fairness, indeed, with the charity and fortitude demanded by political life." --Pope Benedict XVI Something we as Christians, specifically Catholics, would like our politicians such as Ted Kennedy and John Kerry to stop being schizophrenic in their value and belief system and start practicing their Faith.

Bethlehem No Longer Christian, Thanks to Islam

Since the Palestinian Authority took over control of Bethlehem in 2002, what was once a vibrant Christian majority is now in dhimminitude and a shrinking minority. Land grabs, extortion, rape, murder, and other malicious and superjudicial means of removing Christians from Bethlehem have reduced Christians to a quivering minority in fear for their lives. Just another reminder of how 'tolerant' the 'religion of peace' can be. And how other faiths can 'flourish' under Islam. Right. For more click here.

Best Bishop Awards from ANTIQVVS BELLATOR

More awards are coming around this time of year and us Catholic bloggers have our own. A few of us by invitation of ANTIQVVS BELLATOR voted for the best and worse Catholic clergy in the US and the world. The results were predictable but nonetheless worthwhile. The Worst Cardinal of the Year award was won by Cardinal Roger Mahoney of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The Best Cardinal/Bishop of the Year award was won by Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz of Lincoln, Nebraska and their wonderful Diocese! Congratulations to everyone. For more of this click here.

Iran and Armageddon

In shi'iah Islam they believe a 12th imam will rise and rule the world or some kwanzaa made up stuff like that. My brain is lazy tonight, but I wanted to write on President Ahmadinejad and his race towards the destruction of the world between him and Dr. Evil. Anyways, a few political analysts are coming around to what I've been musing about these past few months on President Ahmadinejads rants on destroying Israel and Iran's race towards nuclear weapons. Charles Krauthammer wrote in RealClearPolitics about the combination of Iran's anti-Semitic rhetoric and Irans nuclear program. For more click here.

Orthodox Agrees with Vatican on Homosexuals

The Russian Orthodox Church came out with a statement confirming the Vaticans stance on the admittance of practicing homosexuals into seminaries. The Orthodox also admonished liberal Protestant congregates of allowing the secular world influence their theology. In my opinion, we'll unite with the Orthodox before we unite with any other Christian sect. We share more in common with the Orthodox than we do with the Kennedy-Kerry Klan of Massachusetts. Catholic Church is Growing

The head of the Romanian Catholic Bishops Conference, Archbishop Lucian Muresan of Fagaras and Alba Julia as the "Major Archbishop" of the sui juris Eastern Church. This is one step bellow that of a Patriarch in the Catholic Church. Romanian Catholics only make up 5% of the population in Romania, but I always say better to have quality rather than quantity. UPDATE: USCCB Approves of Homosexual Cowboy Film?

Update on the USCCB rating of homosexual movie: Thanks to a reader of Lifesite.com who contacted the head of USCCB, the rating has been changed from an 'L' to an 'O', but the 'glowing' review remains. That's a halfway job if I've ever seen one. For the rest of this article click here. For the rest of the original (12/15/05) posting read here: Something is wrong here. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has issued a good review of the homosexual cowboy film Brokeback Mountain? Not only do the two homosexual practicing cowboys engage in homosexual sex, but adultery as well, and the USCCB has the gaul to approve of it? That's it for me. I'm no longer using the USCCB movie guidelines anymore. For more of this heretical article click here.

Futbol arrives in Houston

They say that soccer, also know outside the U.S. as football (and football in the U.S. referred to as American football), is almost like a religion. Well Houston futbol fans, we have our own Major League soccer team! The Earthquakes of San Jose are relocating to Houston and me and about a million documented and undocumented workers couldn't be anymore happier. Yes, I am a huge sports fan and I enjoy sporting events (attending them, not watching them on tv). So I need to practice my 'ole' songs and bust out my Real Madrid scarf (hopefully Houston will have their own) and start going maniacal for the second most boring sport on the planet (second only to baseblows). Woo hoo! I mean, Viva Houston! Now if we can only lure David Beckham here everything will be all rosy! For more click here. For Houstons official MLS weblink click here.

The Virgin Mary & South Park

I was on the fence about South Park, due to its vulgar language and themes. But it sure was funny. But I believe mocking the Virgin Mary on the eve of her feast crossed my proverbial line. A recent South Park episode showed the Virgin Mary 'bleeding' in a feminine area so to speak. Yes, it's that repulsive. These guys are surely making room for themselves in hell. For more click here.

Cardinal Speaks Out Against the Anti-Christ

Walter Cardinal Kasper denounced Iranian President Ahmadinejad's statement calling the Holocaust a 'myth'. Update on Narnia Movie

I just got back from watching The Chronicles of Narnia. Wow. I've heard that C.S. Lewis denied any Christianity was used or symbolically implicated in his book, but after watching the film I would respectfully disagree with Mr. C.S. Lewis. Aslan, the true king of Narnia, is sacrificed in an agreement with the Wicked White Witch to spare the young (soon to be) King (forgot the characters name, it's late). Unbetold to the Wicked Witch (who breaks the agreement), by breaking the agreement, Aslan rises from the dead (along with all of those that died at the hands of the Wicked White Witch). No, no connection whatsoever. Riiiight. Great film for the family to watch. For more click here. Looks like I'm not the only one who enjoyed the Chronicles of Narnia this past weekend, click here for more.

The Psychology Behind Homosexual Tendencies

A very interesting read on the tendencies and formations of people who engage in homosexual behavior. Amazing how the U.S. homosexual lobby has completely smothered and attacked science, logic, and natural law to promote their sodomite agenda. The homosexual city Axis of Sodomites that is San Francisco, New York, and Hollywood are doing their best to make homosexuality 'normal' and 'natural'. Dr. Richard Fitzgibbons completely shatters their stands and ideas of 'good' homosexuality. For more click here.

NYC: Abortion Capital of America

Reading this article affirmed somewhat my suspicions about the 'stereotype' that is New York City. Liberal, hedonistic, and deprave. The presupposition is when Roe v. Wade gets overturned, we'll witness an increase of abortion on demand in New York City. Many of these people come a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time. The doctor interviewed in this article views the unborn child as a 'problem'. The 'problem' everyone knows is that the Culture of Death has a death-grip on the people of New York City. Where leisure time is a right and practiced by indulging in deviant sexual activities. From the violation of adolescent children to the celebration of hedonism and masochism. For more click here. Killing Babies Made Legal in Hawaii

You read the title correctly, on November 29th, the Hawaii Supreme Court in a unanimous decision has given mothers everywhere in Hawaii the legal right to kill their own unborn children. How repugnant. Beautiful Hawaii has lost a little of its innocence today. My home, the place where I grew up has turned its back on the protection of life and has made a turn towards the Culture of Death. I am stunned by this decision. What makes this story morally disgusting is that anyone who is not the mother can be prosecuted in the death of an unborn child, but not the mother. The logic here is simply so out of whack that I am at a loss for words. Not since Governor Ben Cayetano ran for reelection have I been ever more disgusted with politics in Hawaii. It is not easy to be upset with anything related to Hawaii, but this did it for me. I don't know what I can do outside of prayer, but something will be done to eventually reverse this horrible court decision. Tayshea Aiwohi smoked crystal methaphetamines during her pregnancy. Tayshea Aiwohi allegedly admitted to using the drugs for three days before the birth and took a "hit" on the morning her son was delivered. Tayshea Aiwohi gave birth to her son Treyson on July 15, 2001, but he died two days later of what city medical examiner's office found was high levels of methamphetamine and amphetamine in his system. Her husband is happy about the decision and said his son could finally rest in peace. Boy is he and his troubled wife in for a whopper when they meet their maker at the Gates of St. Peter. Happy Kwanzaa Fool!

OK, today is a celebration of Kathy Shaidle of Relapsed Catholic. She has another great blog on the artificial holiday called Kwanzaa. It's good to know that I'm not the only one, besides my dear Nigerian friends, that know that Kwanzaa is a fools holiday, that is is made up, and that it has nothing to do with Africa AT ALL. Kathy Shaidle penned a great poem about the fallacy of Kwanzaa and I am reproducing it here for my readers: 'Twas the night before Kwanzaa And all through the 'hood, Maulana Karenga was up to no good. He'd tortured a woman and spent time in jail. He needed a new scam that just wouldn't fail. ("So what if I stuck some chick's toe in a vice? Nobody said revolution was nice!") The Sixties were over. Now what would he do? Why, he went back to school -- so that's "Dr." to you! He once ordered shootouts at UCLA Now he teaches Black Studies just miles away. Then to top it all off, the good Doctor's new plan Was to get rid of Christmas and piss off The Man. Karenga invented a fake holiday. He called the thing Kwanza. "Hey, what's that you say? "You don't get what's 'black' about Maoist baloney? You say that my festival's totally phony? "Who cares if corn isn't an African crop? Who cares if our 'harvest's' a month or two off? Who cares if Swahili's not our mother tongue? A lie for The Cause never hurt anyone! "Umoja! Ujima! Kujichagulia, too! Collectivist crap never sounded so cool! Those guilty white liberals -- easy to fool. Your kids will now celebrate Kwanzaa in school!" And we heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight: "Happy Kwanzaa to all, except if you're white!" For more of this poem and article click here.

Homosexual Behavior Fuels AIDS Epidemic

Great posting by Kathy Shaidle of Relapsed Catholic. Here she posts about the hypocrisy of the battle against AIDS. How the U.S. homosexual lobby is sacrificing lives in order to prevent the spotlight to turn on perverse sexual behavior (which fuels the increase of HIV positive victims, ipso facto, AIDS victims.) "Two decades ago, American AIDS activists came up with the slogan, 'Silence = Death.' But the issue, in practice, wasn't talking about AIDS, but rather doing something about AIDS. So the American slogan became, in effect, 'Behavior Change = Life. And the biggest single life-saving change, back then, was behavioral restraint. Gay bathhouses were shut down, and millions of Americans, many of them gay, changed their sexual patterns: They got serious about condoms, safe sex, or outright abstinence. Were these changes tough to live by? Sure. But they beat the alternative. Let's face it: Just as quarantining worked in the past -- remember leper colonies? -- so the same basic idea, of separating oneself from the threat, works today." "The AIDS Establishment has made its choice apparent to all: It puts freedom, most obviously sexual freedom, ahead of strict public health measures. That is, the preservation of the Sexual Revolution matters more than people's lives. That disturbing reality came clear to me last summer at the World AIDS Summit in Bangkok, in which brazen sexual braggadocio overwhelmed modesty, let alone safety. And yes, it does seem that AIDS activists are better at announcing holidays and staging summits than stymieing the disease..." For the rest of this posting click here.

UPDATE: Catholic Women Shouldn't Marry Muslims

ZENIT has released a new article on the issue of marriage between Christian women and Muslim men. For the article click here. For the rest of my original posting... "Cardinal Camillo Ruini, Vicar General of Rome, made the statement in a document which was released to a conference of bishops yesterday. He wrote: "The experience of recent years leads us as a general rule to advise against or in any case to discourage these marriages. Mixed Catholic and Muslim couples who intend to have a family have other difficulties above and beyond those experienced by other couples, when one considers cultural and religious diversity." Outside the fact that a Muslim woman's opinion is only worth 1/4 that of a Muslim man and are treated almost as poorly as dogs, no, I can't think of any other reason why a Catholic woman shouldn't marry a Muslim man (note to guilty white libs, that is called sarcasm). Kudos to Giraldus Cambrensis of Western Resistance for this blog posting. For guilty white liberals who scream insults instead of doing original investigating, let me assist you in your search. The Vatican has some relevant information regarding the marriage between a Christian woman and a Muslim man. For this divine information click here. Look for paragraphs 63, and 65-68 under Muslim migrants. For the rest of this article click here. For the Times of London article click here. Wells Fargo Bank Supports Homosexual Sex

"Corporate America is falling victim to homosexual activism and Christian consumers need to take a stand as best they can — that was the message Dr. James C. Dobson, chairman of Focus on the Family, shared on his national radio broadcast today." "Dobson was joined by Focus on the Family President and CEO Jim Daly to explain why the ministry will no longer do business with its long-time bank, Wells Fargo." "More and more top companies are contributing money to gay causes or are adopting corporate policies which subvert traditional family values — such as providing same-sex couples with marital benefits." "This is an increasingly dangerous trend within American business, and it affects us at Focus on the Family," Dobson said." The article futher goes on to explain how difficult it is as Christians to discern where to conduct business since a majority of corporations have fallen for the Pro-Homosexual/Sodomite sex agenda. Ward Churchill A Sick Human Being

A group of University of Colorado students, the College Republicans, confronted Ward Churchill outside of his classroom. Ward Churchill is the outspoken professor that said that the 9/11 victims 'deserved to die'. When Ian VanBuskirk, chairman of the College Republicans, handed a list of 9/11 victims to Wade Churchill and a black marker, asked him to circle the names of the victims that deserved to die. Churchill cryptically remarked, "I'll circle names when you start circling names of babies,". He is a proponent of the Culture of Death and is the poster child of the national Democratic Party and the political left. For more on this sick human being click here.

Muslim Turkey Snubs Pope Benedict XVI

Why am I blogging about the government of Turkey not allowing Pope Benedict XVI to visit the Orthodox Patriarch for the feast of St. Andrew? It is just another example of the hostility that Turkey has towards its Christian minorities. After the sacking of Constantinople in 1453 and the coopting of the Hagia Sophia, the Turks, or more accurately, the Muslims or Muslim Turks (since most Turks today were originally Greek Orthodox before forced conversions) have been on a centuries long pogrom of eliminating Christianity from Anatolia. They are almost there. With less than 1% of the population professing their lives to Christ, Turkey still feels insecure about itself, ie, 99% Muslim citizens. Enough so that when the Ecumenical Orthodox Patriarch Bartholemew of Constantinople invites the Pope to celebrate the feast of St. Andrews and then the Turkish government goes ahead and slaps the leader of the 300 million Orthodox Christians by refusing entry to Pope Benedict XVI into Turkey. Again, this is just a friendly reminder of the Muslim rooted government in power in Turkey along with their 'secular' opponents, treating this very subversive Christian minority poorly.
