Cohabitation & Marriage

An interesting article that describes how "cohabitation and marriage are not equivalent unless accompanied by equivalent levels of commitment, fidelity and stability, all of which are far more often lacking in cohabiting relationships." I wrote about cohabitation on an earlier blog mentioning that it reduces marriage to a sheet of paper and is demeaning to women. Well, that is certainly true. Why get all of the benefits without the commitment. Women suffer greatly because of the emotional investment they put in and get nothing (nearly) in return. I'm not an expert, but I've seen many friends and associates cohabitate and it is a false promise of commitment that hardly ever fulfills either partner.
