Bill Cork Moving On
Just found out that Bill Cork, Director of Young Adult & Campus Ministry for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, will be moving on to greener pastures. After nine (9) years of faithful service to the Archdiocese, Bill will be going to another apostolate on his professional journey. He will be sorely missed, especially by me. Even more so considering that Catholic young adults (singles mostly) are the least tended to in most dioceses.
I’ve had the good fortune of living in many different dioceses across the United States and have been a witness to the different approaches to how the diocese has served their young adult communities. The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston is by far superior to any diocese I have been a member to. From Café Catholic to Bayou Awakening (and many more), Bill has done a lot of excellent work serving the Catholic young adults and college students throughout the archdiocese. There has also been a spill-over effect that has created a plethora of young adult apostolate’s too numerous to list that can directly or indirectly be credited to Bill’s hard work.
His own blog, Built on a Rock, inspired me to start my own blog!
From the many Catholic young adult’s in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston we thank you for your dedicated service to us. God bless and Godspeed.

Let us pray that Bill may find his way home to the Church as he did before. May the Holy Spirit grant him the grace to cast aside his doubts and disillusionment with the Church, and rid him of the despair that has led him away from home. This side of eternity or the other, we look forward to welcoming him back into to the Catholic Church once more.
