Modern Day Christian Persecution
Granted we as Christians aren't facing lions anymore, nor the scimitar of a Muslim (yet they substitute with a pack of C4 explosives and an occasional airliner), but here in the United States Christian persecution is not violent; only openly accepted to eliminate Christianity from the public square.
Take the case of students inside the Katy Independent School District here in Houston. A group of their parents obtained a temporary restraining order allowing their children to bring religious (Christian- since when was St. Valentines a Muslim holiday?) themed valentines (cards) to school on Tuesday.
It took a court order to do this.
In this great country of ours, it took a court order to exercise our Free Speech. Remember, the constitution says separation of Church and State, NOT separation FROM Church and state.
The original intent of this phrasing was to prevent one religion from being a state funded institution. Not to take religion out of the public square.

Uh, Tito, as this article notes, Katy ISD was puzzled by this. No teacher or administrator had told kids they couldn't. This was a publicity stunt by attorney Kelly Shackelford.
After reading the article that you posted, it seems that there is discrimination against students who express religious (Christian) points of view. Hence the restraining order.
If this discrimination wasn't going on, then it wouldn't have been necessary.
I think you got stuck on Sheklefords statement that there is no policy against freedom of expression. That is why the lawsuit is forthcoming because there have been instances of suppression of religious (expression).
